Esistono questi programmini che non fanno altro che iscriversi automaticamente ai forum per poi mettere messaggi con links a siti vari (pornografici, con virus, eccetera), sia nel forum vero e proprio, che come messaggio privato a vari utenti (del quale vi viene mandata la notifica email).
Appena possibile questi pseudo-utenti vengono cancellati e con loro spariscono tutti i messaggi che hanno mandato.
Per cui se andate a controllare i MP dopo che lo spam-bot è stato cancellato, non vedrete alcun nuovo messaggio anche se vi è stata mandata la notifica.
Se invece ricevete strani MP da neo-utenti dagli strani nomi, con links a siti che nulla c'entrano con le orchidee, cancellate pure il tutto senza neanche andare a vedere il sito linkato.
In particolar modo se utilizzate Microsoft Internet Explorer, in quanto particolarmente poco sicuro nei confronti di virus, trojan, dialer e schifezze varie (altri browser come Firefox o Opera sono molto meno intraprendenti nell'eseguire ed installare script e programmini strani)
